Pillar io alternatives and Pillar io vs Stan Store for creators who earn from affiliate links

Most pages ranking for Pillar alternatives are directories that mix up three different companies called Pillar, or roundups that list names without prices. We read Pillar's own pricing page and homepage on the day this was written, set every plan against the rivals creators actually compare it with, and kept what Pillar publishes apart from what follows from it. The question underneath all of it is simple: is the money you make coming from your own products, or from recommending other people's?

The short answer

The best Pillar io alternatives are Stan Store for a simpler course and download shop, Beacons for a cheaper all in one page with a free plan, Komi for a low cost mini site, Linktree for a plain link page, and Favly for creators whose income is affiliate commission. Pillar Creator costs $29 a month billed yearly ($348 a year) with a 5% seller fee, and Entrepreneur costs $99 a month billed yearly ($1,188 a year) with 0%. Both fees apply only to products you sell through Pillar. Commission from Amazon, software partner programs and brand programs never passes through it.

what you are really paying for

Pillar is priced for a creator who sells. Check whether that is you.

Pillar's plans climb from a creator store and course builder to funnels, landing pages, event tickets and a branded mobile app. Every step up the ladder adds selling tools. A creator who reviews cameras, AI apps or editing software and earns commission on them has very little to put in that store, so most of the price buys features that never earn. That is not a flaw in Pillar. It is a mismatch, and it is the most common reason creators go looking for an alternative.

What to check before you switch

What a Pillar alternative has to do better for a creator paid in commission.

01

Sort last year's income by source

Open your Pillar sales report and every affiliate dashboard you use, and put the two totals side by side. If most of the money came from courses, coaching and downloads, you are pricing a store and Pillar, Stan Store and Beacons are the fair comparison. If most of it came from commission on gear, software and AI tools, you are pricing something else entirely, and the store features are the part you can stop paying for.

02

Price the plan against what it can earn you

Pillar Creator costs $348 a year. For a creator who sells nothing, that is $348 for a link page with a store nobody shops in. The useful question is not which tool has more features per dollar. It is which tool has features that touch the money you actually make.

03

Know which link earned, not which link was tapped

Pillar's analytics see what happens inside Pillar: views, taps and your own checkout. An affiliate sale happens on the merchant's site, often days later, and is recorded in the merchant's system. No link page can see it unless it imports the program's report. That import is what lets you move the earners to the top and cut the links that get tapped and never pay.

04

Treat software and AI tools as a separate shelf

A tripod pays once and usually at a low single digit rate. Many software and AI partner programs pay a share of the subscription for every month the customer stays. At a 20% to 30% recurring rate on a $30 a month plan, one referral who stays a year pays $72 to $108. A page that cannot tell those links apart from the tripod is hiding your best earners.

05

Do not pay for funnels you will not build

Entrepreneur's funnel builder, landing pages and event tickets are good tools for a launch business. They cost $840 a year more than Creator on annual billing. If you have nothing to launch, that is the most expensive part of the bill and the easiest to drop.

06

Keep your links working through the move

On Entrepreneur your Pillar page can sit on your own domain. If it does, point that domain at the new page and every old bio link and printed QR code keeps working. If it sits on a Pillar address, update your Instagram, TikTok and YouTube bios first, then the descriptions on your most watched videos.

Switch without losing taps

How to move from Pillar to an affiliate storefront in four steps.

1

Export what earned in the last 12 months

Pull the products and plans that paid commission from Amazon Associates, your software partner programs and any brand programs. Add the things you recommend that you have never been paid for, because those are the links to fix first.

2

Keep Pillar for anything you still sell

If you have a course or a preset pack that sells, there is no reason to move it. Downgrade to Creator if the funnels were idle, keep the product live, and link to it from the new page.

3

Build collections and tag every link

Create your storefront at favly.com/@you and group recommendations into collections such as camera, desk, editing and AI tools. Put the Favly tag in each program's sub ID or tracking field, so each commission row can be matched to the link that sent the buyer.

4

Move the bio link, then read the first report

Swap the link in your bios, then wait for the first full payout cycle. The report shows which collection and which link earned, which is the information a Pillar page cannot give you about outside programs.

If it is not a fit

If you sell courses, coaching or downloads, stay on Pillar.

This page is not going to talk you out of a tool that fits. If your income is your own products, Pillar does that job well: one tap checkout, a course builder, bookings and invoices from $29 a month billed yearly, and funnels and landing pages on Entrepreneur that would otherwise be two or three more subscriptions. Favly has no product checkout at all. Plenty of creators run both, with the shop on Pillar and the recommendations on a storefront that tracks commission, linked to each other.

FAQ

Questions creators ask about Pillar and what to use instead.

What is the best alternative to Pillar?

It depends on where your money comes from. For selling courses and downloads, Stan Store is the closest swap and is simpler to set up. For a cheaper all in one page with a free plan, Beacons. For a low cost mini site, Komi. For a plain link page, Linktree. For creators paid mostly in affiliate commission, an affiliate storefront such as Favly, which matches commission to each link.

Is Pillar io better than Stan Store?

For marketing tools, yes. Pillar Entrepreneur includes funnels, landing pages and event tickets that Stan Store Creator does not. At the entry level Stan is cheaper and has no fee: Stan Creator is $300 a year with 0% platform fee, while Pillar Creator is $348 a year with a 5% seller fee. Both are built for selling your own products.

How much does Pillar io cost?

Pillar Creator is $39 a month or $29 a month billed yearly. Entrepreneur is $129 a month or $99 a month billed yearly. Professional is $399 a month on annual billing, with no published monthly price. Annual billing saves 25%, according to pillar.io/pricing on 24 October 2026.

Is Pillar io free?

Pillar offers a free start. Its homepage reads Start For Free and the Creator plan lists Everything in Free, but the pricing page shows only the three paid plans, so the limits of the free tier are not published there. Entrepreneur on annual billing comes with a 3 day free trial.

Does Pillar take a percentage of sales?

Yes, on Creator. Pillar charges a 5% seller fee on sales through your Pillar store on the Creator plan and 0% on Entrepreneur and Professional. Payment processing is charged separately. The fee never touches commission from affiliate programs you join yourself, because the merchant pays that to you directly.

Is Pillar io legit?

Yes. Pillar is a working creator store platform that pays out sales to your Stripe or PayPal account, and its homepage cites 4.3 out of 5 on Trustpilot and more than 100,000 creators. Those are Pillar's own figures, which we did not verify, so read the most recent reviews before you commit to an annual plan.

Is Pillar good for affiliate marketing?

Only if you also sell your own products. Pillar lets you add affiliate links to your page, but its pricing is built around a store, courses and funnels. Its Affiliate Marketing feature is for recruiting people to promote your products, not for tracking the commission you earn from other companies.

Is Pillar Entrepreneur worth it?

On fees alone, only once your own sales pass about $16,800 a year, since the $840 a year step up from Creator equals 5% of that. Below it, the 5% costs less. Entrepreneur is still worth it earlier if you will use the custom domain, the funnel builder or event tickets.

What are sites like Pillar?

Sites like Pillar fall into three groups. Creator shops with checkout, such as Stan Store, Beacons and Komi. Link in bio pages, such as Linktree, Taplink and Milkshake. And affiliate storefronts, such as Favly, ShopMy and LTK, which are built around earning commission on products other companies sell.

For the shops it is most often compared with, Stan Store alternatives prices each creator shop from the vendor's own page, Stan Store pricing covers both Stan plans, and Beacons alternatives reads all four Beacons plans at source.

If you want something cheaper than any of them, our Komi alternative and our Milkshake alternative read both pricing pages at source, and Linktree alternatives compares the biggest name in the field.

If your income is commission, an affiliate link in bio shows how a commission first page differs from a list of buttons, SaaS affiliate programs and recurring affiliate programs cover the programs that pay every month, and whether link in bio tools take a cut of your sales works through the fee arithmetic in full.
