Linktree Free is enough to hold Amazon links, and paying does not raise your commission
Start with the question every Amazon affiliate asks first, because the answer saves money. Linktree Free includes unlimited basic links, and an Amazon affiliate link is a basic link: a URL with your tag on it. Amazon calculates your commission and pays it to you from your Associates account, so Linktree is never in the payment. That means no Linktree plan takes a cut of your Amazon earnings and no Linktree plan adds to them. A creator earning $300 a month from Amazon earns the same $300 on Linktree Free as on Premium at $360 a year. The paid tiers buy real things, such as removing Linktree branding, custom themes, advanced analytics and data export, but none of them is a commission lever for Amazon links.
What "Linktree affiliate shop (keep 100%)" means for an Amazon affiliate
The Premium card on Linktree's pricing page lists "Linktree affiliate shop (keep 100%)". Read quickly, it sounds like cheaper plans keep part of your affiliate income. They do not keep any of your Amazon income. The line refers to Linktree Shops, the catalog of brand offers that Linktree runs itself and that its help center says is available to Linkers based in the United States. There Linktree is the network, so it is in the payment and can share it. Linktree does not publish the split on lower plans. Your own Amazon Associates tag is outside that arrangement entirely. If Amazon is where your commission comes from, the keep-100% line is describing money you do not earn through Linktree.
The one Amazon rule a link page can actually break: automatic forwarding
Amazon's Program Policies exclude purchases made through a "Redirecting Link", defined as a link that sends users to an Amazon site through an intermediate site "without requiring the customer to click on a link or take some other affirmative action on that intermediate site". A normal Linktree page is fine, because the visitor taps a button. The risk is any setup that skips the tap: a bio link that forwards straight to Amazon, a routing rule that sends every visitor onward automatically, or a chain of redirects stacked in front of the Amazon URL. Purchases through those can fall outside qualifying purchases. The safe pattern is simple: one page, one tap, one Amazon URL with your tag.
Shorteners are allowed. Hiding Amazon is not
The policies also say you will not use "a link shortening service, button, hyperlink or other ad placement in a manner that makes it unclear that you are linking to an Amazon Site", and that you will not cloak or obscure the URL of your site in a way that stops Amazon from telling where a click came from. Amazon runs its own shortener, so shortening is not the problem. Ambiguity is. On a link page that means labeling buttons honestly ("Standing desk on Amazon", not "My secret setup") and not wrapping the Amazon link in a second service whose only job is to disguise it.
Disclosure: the exact sentence Amazon asks for, and where it goes
Amazon asks you to state "As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases", or a substantially similar statement, clearly and prominently on your site. On Linktree the natural place is a text header at the top of the page, above the first Amazon button, not in a footer nobody scrolls to. The FTC expects a clear disclosure near the recommendation as well, so a short "#ad" or "paid link" label on each Amazon button covers both readers who skim and readers who tap straight away. Your social profile bio should say it too, because Amazon's policies ask that the disclosure be associated with the account where the content lives.
The gap no Linktree plan closes: which link earned
Linktree reports taps. Amazon reports orders and earnings, split by tracking ID.
